New Planner and Getting Organized!

I don't know about you but I friggin' love stationary.  Pens, paper, journals, it excites me probably a little more than it should.  Journals in particular are my weakness because I'm a big list maker.  I'll make a list for just about anything and I'll buy a new journal when I still have four stacked on my desk without a single page being written on.  Journals are my kryptonite!

This year one of my goals was to become more organized.  I wanted to start doing things in more of a routine instead of haphazardly like I had been.  With the addition of a little human I knew it was going to be important to put myself on a schedule with things like laundry and keeping the house clean.  If I didn't I knew I'd be headed for a mental breakdown sooner rather than later.  Enter, the planner.

About a month and a half ago I saw xsparkage/leeshavlogs on YouTube upload a video about a planner she ordered from Plum Paper on Etsy.  Last year I almost took the plunge and ordered the ever popular Erin Condren Planner but I just couldn't bring myself to spend the $75 bucks.  It never occurred to me to head over to Etsy to find something comparable, maybe even better, for less.  I'm so glad I did!

Now, how cute is that cover?  There quite a few different designs and I love the fact that they're personalized.  One of the main things I love about this planner are the different add-ons available.  They have sections for bills, home, cleaning, fitness, baby, blogs, etc.  It's a beautiful thing!  There are also specific planners for teachers and students, wedding, meals, fitness, the list goes on.

The total cost for my specific planner with the home planning section add-on was $44 with shipping.  My only gripe was that it took awhile for shipping but it's to be expected and is something that's outlined before you make the purchase.  I'm just super impatient!

If you'd like to check it out here is the link; Plum Paper.

Disclaimer:  This planner was bought and paid for by me.  This post is not sponsored.

Valentino Rockstud Leather Slingbacks for Less

(Please excuse my dry feet. I'm going through something horrible called the ways in which your body hates you after pregnancy) Let's get something straight here.  I love designer things but I don't love designer prices.  If I do happen to spend a large chunk of change on an item it's most likely going to be a handbag.  Why?  Because handbags never hurt anyone.  I love it when people say 'oh these heels are so comfortable!'  Are they?  Are they really?  No.  They're comfortable for heels is what you mean.  Come on people, make the distinction.

Like I said, handbags never hurt anyone.  Heels on the other hand cause me to rethink my life decisions when I wear them, and I'm talking like 4 and up inchers here.  So when I think about paying $995 for something that is ultimately going to cause me pain, it makes my heart hurt a little.

The first time I saw these was about 6 months ago while shopping Polyvore and they were in a bright neon pink.  I don't know about you but for me neon pink is not a color I wear often...or at all.  Black on the other hand is more my speed but again not for $995.  Enter the BCBGeneration Darron Pump.
These are very similar looking to the Valentino pump and since I don't own the Rockstuds I can't attest to the comfort. I will venture to guess though, that these are probably a little more uncomfortable. If you love the style of the Rockstuds but can't or won't shell out the money for them; I think the Darron Pump serves as a good option. -Natalie

I had a baby! A real live human!

Yep, you read that right.  I, the non-maternal/forever a child woman procreated.  Let me tell you, it wasn't a picnic. Hence, the reason why this blog has been so terribly neglected.  Being pregnant while living in the desert during summer?  Holy literal hell Batman.  I was miserable for a good portion of last year and so this blog was pretty much the last thing on my mind.  Now though?  I'm ready to get back at it.  My little bundle of joy is all swaddled up and sitting tight in her Fisher Price Rock n' Play (which advertises 'I Rock!' but doesn't actually rock on it's own.  Technically anything rocks if I have to do it myself.  Party foul, Fisher Price, party foul.)  I debated on whether or not to insert a picture of her since she's so absolutely gorgeous that I didn't want to make all of the other internet babies jealous, but what the hell.  Insert winky face here.  I know we all think our children are the cutest...I just happen to be right.  Again, winky face.

Side note: I'm a first time mom and not super up to snuff on the whole raising of children.  I wasn't on the giving birth thing either but I managed to bumble my way through that.   So, if you'd like to see posts about me continuing to bumbling my way through this journey known as motherhood let me know, and if not let me know that too.  I know the mom stuff can be boooring.
